Jeff Rasansky is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. Jeff graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors of Business Administration (Finance) in 1987, and went on to earn his law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in 1990. Jeff is admitted to both the Texas and Oklahoma bars.
Jeff’s litigation experience includes working at one of the most prestigious’ national law firms representing businesses and insurance companies, a civil trial firm representing plaintiffs in mass tort litigation, and managing his own law firm primarily representing plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury cases and individual clients and business entities in cases involving breach of contract, consumer cases, fraud, employment disputes (including unpaid overtime, sexual harassment and discrimination cases), and anti-trust violations.
These varied legal experiences prepared Jeff for his career in mediation. Since completing his mediation training and obtaining his mediator’s certificate in 2011, Jeff has spent a substantial portion of his professional time engaged in the practice of mediation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The disputes he has mediated have ranged from small to large, more complex, multi-party catastrophic personal injury cases and various types of business disputes.
Jeff is a natural mediator who is client-focused and results-oriented. He is a compassionate and understanding advocate for all parties, yet not afraid to be diplomatically forceful when necessary. As a skilled negotiator himself, Jeff knows the importance of separating the people from the problem and working side-by-side with each party to attack the problem creatively, concentrating on the parties’ interest in resolving the case rather than their positions.
Jeff’s diverse knowledge of the law and the proven ability to read people and empower them to be a solution to their problems has made him a sought-after mediator in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Judges, fellow attorneys, and businesses alike regularly refer cases to Jeff to act as a third-party neutral because they know he listens to the parties and their attorneys and utilizes principled negotiation techniques focused on the merits of the dispute. Jeff’s diverse experience mediating all types of cases for more than 25 years, combined with his natural strength as a negotiator and counselor, offer a unique opportunity and environment for all parties to leave mediation with their conflicts resolved.
In addition to mediating and practicing law, Jeff is actively engaged as a volunteer leader in the Dallas community. Jeff is a former president of his synagogue (Congregation Shearith Israel, 2005-2007) and is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (2011-2013). Jeff is also a past Executive Committee Member of the Jewish Federations of North America and is currently serving on its national Board of Trustees. Jeff is also a past board member of the following organizations: Dallas Trial Lawyers Association; Jewish Community Center; Jewish Family Service; Dallas Holocaust Museum and Center for Education and Tolerance; and Solomon Schechter Academy and recently completed service for the City of Dallas as a Commission Member on the Judicial Nominating Commission. Jeff also volunteers his times as a mock trial Judge for high school mock trial competitions.
Jeff is the recipient of many honors and awards including the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” list by D Magazine, Texas Super Lawyers, National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and was named one of the leading 500 lawyers in America by Lawdragon. Jeff maintains a Martindale AV Preeminent rating (highest rating attainable from Martindale-Hubbell) and a “Superb” peer rating on AVVO. In addition, Jeff was honored by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation with the prestigious Impact on Justice Award in 2009.
